Shivers, goose bumps, spine-tingles – and s’mores of course! You’ll find all of these things at the third annual Campfire Storytelling Concert beginning at 7:30 PM on Saturday, October 10th at the Dawson County Public Library!
Join us around the campfire in the field behind the library for good, old-fashioned jump/ghost stories, s’mores and lots of fun! Nationally renowned storyteller – Kim Weitkamp – will headline the evening, joined by some of Georgia’s favorite tellers. As a soon-to-be featured teller at the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee, Weitkamp’s specialty is stories of the spooky variety.
This year’s concert is being generously sponsored by Rotary Club of Dawson County, Dawson County Tourism, National Storytelling Network, Southern Order of Storytellers, the Dawson County Women’s Club, Friends of the Dawson County Public Library, Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge, and The Home Depot Dawsonville. This year’s poster was created by award winning illustrator Mark Braught.
This event is FREE and open to all! Fun will begin at 7:30 PM with S’mores, followed by stories at 8PM. Be sure to bring a chair or blanket for sitting and a jacket in case the night turns cool. So…when the weather gets chilly, and the leaves begin to fall, get ready for campfire fun at your library! For more information, please contact the library at 706-344-3690.
