The Lumpkin County Library is partnering with the Dahlonega Rotary Sunrise to host a free shredding event for the community. Document Destruction Services will be at the library from 10 am – 12 pm. Volunteers from the Rotary will be facilitating the event. Community members may bring up to five boxes of materials to be shredded. (You must take your empty boxes). Please remove any metal clips or bindings prior to bringing your materials. (Note: Document Destruction Services will travel to the Dawsonville branch for shredding from 1 – 3 p.m. that same afternoon)
Come get crafty at Dawson County Library on the last Tuesday of each month. All supplies will be provided. No artistic skills required…just come and have some fun at your library! This months craft will be a DIY Fall Leaf Candle Holder. REGISTRATION REQUIRED – call the library to sign up
The “Short List” book club will be meeting the 2nd Thursday of each month from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. This book club will discuss a different short story each month. Selections will be made from masters of the past as well as contemporary authors and will focus on various genres. The monthly selections will be printed off a few weeks prior to the discussion,and participants may stop at the front desk to pick up a copy of each month’s story. November’s Selection: “The Bear Went Over the Mountain” by Alice Munro.
