Full STEAM Ahead @ Your Library Print E-mail

Due to a generous grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Dawson and Lumpkin County public libraries are excited to announce new STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) programming for the New Year!

We’ll kick things off this month with Family STEM Days. Have you ever wanted to see how a 3-D printer works, or are you curious about what your skin looks like under a microscope, or want to figure out how that electrical circuit works? Now’s your chance! Visit the Dawson County public library on Saturday, February 7th from 11AM-1PM and the Lumpkin County public library on Saturday, February 21st from 11AM – 2PM to explore all your library has to offer. These events are FREE and designed for the whole family.

We’re moving full STEAM ahead with our children, tweens, and teens, too! Beginning in February both Dawson and Lumpkin libraries will be offering monthly, themed STEAM programs beginning with a closer look at our feathered friends – birds – in February. These programs are designed to engage patrons in grades K- 12, and are FREE.

So join us at the library in 2015 as we discover new worlds together!
