The Dawson County Commissioners voted to allow the Chestatee Regional Library System to utilize unused space inside the Fire Station on Highway 53.
The satellite location will allow for a pick up and drop off location for people who live closer to the 400 corridor. The plan, as of right now, is to be open a total of 6 hours per week over two days. There will be a small collection of less than 200 books & CD’s available for patrons to check out. Patrons can also put books on hold through the PINES system and pick them up there as well as drop them off. The opening of this branch will take place sometime this summer. Please go to our New Satellite Survey site to tell us what services would help you most! |

The Chestatee Regional Library System is now offering a unique service to patrons. It will now be possible to check out cake pans with your library card. We have a new collection of themed cake pans that you may take home and use for that special occasion. Some of the cake pans in the collection include Darth Vader, a baseball mit, and a train, among others. So now when you want to host that Little League party, you can come check out a glove-shaped cake pan instead of spending $ 20.00 for something you might not use again. When your darling daughter is crazy about Hello Kitty this year, but next year she might be all about butterflies, we have the cake pans you need to make each occasion special. In today’s economy, our new cake pan collection is one way to “have your cake and eat it, too!” Stop by or call the Lumpkin County at 706-864-3668 or Dawson County library at 706-344-3690 to investigate what you might be able to cook up! |
