Lumpkin County Library Circulation Assistant,
Part Time, 17 hours per week
The Circulation Assistant staffs the circulation desk, registers and assists patrons, checks library materials in and out, answers the phone, handles hold requests, shelves and straightens, and performs other general library duties.
Requires at least a High School diploma or GED. Pays $10.38 per hour.
Wednesdays: 1:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Thursdays: 12:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Fridays: 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Information Specialist – Lumpkin County Library.
Full-time, non-exempt 37.5 hrs/week, Monday-Friday.
Some Saturdays required.
The Information Specialist is responsible for the planning and implementation of reference, genealogy, and information services for all ages. Library, reference, genealogical and research experience desired.
Minimum requirement - at least two years of college, or two years of public library experience with a high school diploma or GED. Pay range $11.44-$17.41 per hour (DOE) with excellent benefits.

FRIENDS OF THE LUMPKIN COUNTY LIBRARY
There will be a general meeting of the Friends of the Lumpkin County Library on Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will held in the downstairs meeting room of the library. Local Georgia author, John McKay, will be speaking about his new book, “Speaking Ill of the Dead: Jerks in Georgia History”. Books will be available to purchase. There will be a short business meeting to discuss plans for the upcoming year and refreshments will be served. If you would like to learn more about our Friends group, please join us.

Join Bill Tanner around the campfire at the Dawson County Public Library on Saturday, March 15th from 7-8 PM for Ease into Camping and discover the ins and outs of creating a successful and fun camping experience.
Tanner will share his expertise as a veteran park ranger of thirty years and former Park Manager of Amicalola Falls by walking you through everything you need to know to plan your adventure at this FREE program. From gear such as tents and RVs to finding the location that’s right for you, information and demonstrations will be available to help you prepare.
From the mountains to the coastal islands, Georgia has some of the nation’s most scenic locations to set up camp – including lots of places in our own county. And whether you’re brand new to the great outdoors or simply need a refresher, Ease into Camping will help you do just that! So bring your lawn chairs, and pull up a seat around the fire. You might even get to toast a marshmallow or two!
