May 24th @ 5:30 PM
Lumpkin County Library
In partnership with Friends of the Library, the Lumpkin County Library is pleased to announce an upcoming genealogy program featuring local historian, Chris Worick.
Mr. Worick retired from the Army after serving for 23 years and relocated to Dahlonega in 2001. He became interested in the local gold mining history, and he is now a well-known “super sleuth” when it comes to local history. He is the president of the Lumpkin County Historical Society and is the published author of several books and articles. He was instrumental in the Chestatee River Diving Bell project. Join Mr. Worick as he shares some secrets about his favorite online genealogy websites. He will introduce several free websites that allow access to digitized newspapers, cemetery records, and more! This program is for anyone who is interested in genealogy or local history research.
Light refreshments will be served after the presentation. No reservations are required, so plan to attend and discover some real “nuggets” of wisdom.
