Strands of origami paper cranes

We are creating a new display for the library! The librarians are attempting to make and string 1,000 paper cranes. The Japanese refer to the crane as the “bird of happiness,” and it is a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times.

Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one’s wish would come true. We have a long way to go, but we got a little closer to our goal with the help of a talented patron from Japan! Stop by the library to see our progress!
