Reading to Dogs @ Dawson County Library

Reading to dogs helps children build self confidence in a comfortable, accepting environment. This is an opportunity for your child to practice his or her reading skills for fifteen minutes, working one-on-one with a therapy dog and his or her trainer. Registration required.

Frugal Is Fabulous Club @ Dawson County Library

Come join us each month as we share different ways to put more money in your pocket. We welcome anyone to bring tips and tricks to be more frugal. We hope that at each meeting you will leave with something for FREE!

FREE Shred Day @ Dawson County Library

The library will be hosting a free shredding event. Document Destruction Services from Gainesville, Georgia, will be onsite to shred up to five boxes of materials per person.

Knitting Club

Gather to work on your current project and have a fun time with fellow knitters. Beginners welcome…just bring your own yarn & needles (size 8 in the 10 inch length are recommended for newbies). We’ll even have some yarn for you to use if you’d just like to try it out! This club is for ages 18 and up, completely free and open to the public. Come get knitty at the library!

Building Blocks Storytime @ Lumpkin County Library

The program lasts approximately 45 minutes and may include songs, fingerplays, and crafts in addition to the stories. Building Blocks Storytime is designed for children ages 2 to 5. No pre-registration is required, but groups larger than five are requested to call at least two days in advance.

Free Shredding Event at the Library @ Lumpkin County Library

In partnership with the Dahlonega Rotary Sunrise, the library will be hosting a free shredding event. Document Destruction Services from Gainesville, Georgia, will be onsite to shred up to five boxes of materials per person. Volunteers from Dahlonega Sunrise will be on hand to help facilitate this free event.
