Storytime Tea Party @ Lumpkin County Library

In partnership with the Dahlonega Women’s Club, the Lumpkin County Library will be hosting the 4th annual Storytime Tea Party. This special storytime is recommended for children ages 3 – 10, and their caregivers. Wear your fanciest attire, or come as you are. This will be a time of refreshments, stories, and a take-home craft. Registration is required. Please call the Lumpkin County Library at 706-864-3668 or stop by the front desk to register for this event.

Tai Chi

If you’re looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE). Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. This is beginner group who will meet every Monday from 10:00AM-11:00AM

Craft Closet Clean Out

Come create your own masterpiece! We will provide the supplies, you just bring your creativity. Each participant will be able to use any of the provided supplies to create one beautiful work of art. For ages 5-18.

Knitting Club

Gather to work on your current project and have a fun time with fellow knitters. Beginners welcome…just bring your own yarn & needles (size 8 in the 10 inch length are recommended for newbies). We’ll even have some yarn for you to use if you’d just like to try it out! This club is for ages 18 and up, completely free and open to the public. Come get knitty at the library!

Building Blocks Storytime @ Lumpkin County Library

The program lasts approximately 45 minutes and may include songs, fingerplays, and crafts in addition to the stories. Building Blocks Storytime is designed for children ages 2 to 5. No pre-registration is required, but groups larger than five are requested to call at least two days in advance.

Exercise. Meditation. Flexibility. Breathing. Posture. Come join us as we learn the restorative art of yoga on Thursdays. Instructor: Lynne Campbell. Bring your own yoga mat. This class is for ages 18 and up and completely free.
