If you’re looking for a way to reduce stress, consider tai chi (TIE-CHEE). Originally developed for self-defense, tai chi has evolved into a graceful form of exercise that’s now used for stress reduction and a variety of other health conditions. Often described as meditation in motion, tai chi promotes serenity through gentle, flowing movements. This is beginner group who will meet every other Tuesday from 1:00PM-2:00PM

Join us at the Lumpkin County Library for a Sensory Storytime hosted by Lumpkin County ConnectAbility! All ages, parents, and siblings are welcome to join. During this program there will be books, songs, and an activity that involves the senses – beyond just sight and sound. Sensory storytimes provide a safe and welcoming environment for children with developmental disabilities or sensory processing disorders and their caregivers. However, these special storytimes are designed for children of all abilities. No pre-registration is required.

This event will consist of patrons bringing their own technology—be it a laptop, phone, or tablet—and receiving one-on-one assistance using them from our Information Specialist, Anna Garland. Description:Gather to work on your current project and have a fun time with fellow needlework fanatics! Whether you like crochet, knitting, cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting, or anything in between, this group is open to all! Beginners welcome! (However there is no instructor.) This club is for ages 18 and up, completely free and open to the public.

This is an opportunity for your child to practice his or her reading skills for fifteen minutes, working one-on-one with a therapy dog and his or her trainer.
