Description:Gather to work on your current project and have a fun time with fellow needlework fanatics! Whether you like crochet, knitting, cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting, or anything in between, this group is open to all! Beginners welcome! (However there is no instructor.) This club is for ages 18 and up, completely free and open to the public.
Join us for Stitch in Time every Friday morning from 10:00 am to 12:00 p.m. You are welcome to bring any type of crafting project that you are working on, and share a time of crafting and conversation with others in the community. Newcomers are welcome for this FREE program! (Note: No instruction is provided)
The Lumpkin County Library is pleased to announce a new program for all ages – Library Got Game! This
program offers a wide variety of board games and card games for all to enjoy, such as: Code Names,
Kings in the Corner, Monopoly, Battleship, Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, Sequence, Rummikub, and
many more. It will be hosted at the library on the Second Saturday of each month from 10 am – 2 pm.
All ages are welcome. No registration is required. Come join us for Library Got Game!
Kids have the opportunity to have fun, boost self-confidence, and improve reading comprehension by reading to the Dawsonville Launch mascot, Joes. Readers my bring their own book or choose from ours. for children in first grade and up. Registration is required for a 15 – minute appointment. Call 706-344-3690.
It’s never too early to chew on a good book! This program is designed for babies (along with parent) from birth to 23 months. We’ll be creating building blocks of early literacy through songs, action rhymes, books, and playtime. These are wonderful times for your babies to hear lots of language, and a great opportunity for you to meet new parents! (Structured activity for 15 minutes with playtime after). Book Babies Lapsit will be held Tuesdays at 11 am. (September 20 & 27, October 4, 11, 18, & 25).
Kids in grades K – 5th: Stop by the Lumpkin County Library on the second Tuesday of October, November, and December to participate in our LEGO Club! This program will take place from 4:00 – 4:45 PM on October 11, November 8, and December 13. No pre-registration required. Parents are welcome to attend.
Building Blocks Storytime will be held on Wednesday mornings at 11 a.m. The programs last 45 minutes to an hour and may include songs, fingerplays, and crafts in addition to the stories. Building Blocks Storytime is designed for children ages 4 to 5. No registration is required, but groups larger than five are requested to call at least two days in advance.
