Join us in the Dawson County Library Meeting Room from 3:30 – 5:00 pm to explore the wonders of science through fun-filled activities that will spark your child’s scientific curiosity. This Spring we’ll be learning about the properties of water, dabble in a little chemistry, explore force and motion, take small appliances apart to see how they work, and experiment with magnetism and electricity.

This event will consist of patrons bringing their own technology—be it a laptop, phone, or tablet—and receiving one-on-one assistance using them from our Information Specialist, Anna Garland. The Happy Bookers Book discussion group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 1:30 p.m. in the library’s meeting room. The group discusses a different book each month. Selections are chosen from fiction, nonfiction, bestsellers, and literary works. Contact the library for the current selection.
Description:Gather to work on your current project and have a fun time with fellow needlework fanatics! Whether you like crochet, knitting, cross stitch, needlepoint, quilting, or anything in between, this group is open to all! Beginners welcome! (However there is no instructor.) This club is for ages 18 and up, completely free and open to the public.
Legos, learning and fun! Come join us in the Dawson County Library meeting room for an hour of Lego fun and learning. We’ll provide the Legos, an optional Lego building challenge, and the opportunity to share your love of Legos with others. This program is designed for children ages 5 – 13. Duplos will be provided for younger siblings. No registration required.
Fun for the whole family Dawson County Libray is bringing back their popular PEEP Diorama Contest. Dioramas must include a character portrayed by a peep and boxes must be shoebox-sized. The library will be accepting entries Mar. 20 – Apr. 1. Two winners will be given $25 gift cards in the categories of ‘PEEPles Choice’ and ‘Best in PEEPs’. Winners will be announced April 10 after a week of public voting.
