Laptop, photo scanner, pictures, archival gloves

Do you have photographs, letters, postcards, diaries, service records, or other sentimental documents that you want to safeguard? You can preserve and protect these precious materials by scanning and digitizing them. Chestatee Regional Library System wants to help you do just that. Both Dawson and Lumpkin County Libraries are hosting a Community Scanning Day on Thursday, September 26 from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

September is “Save Your Photos Month”, so this is the perfect time to sort through your photos and ensure that they are preserved for the future. Everyone has items that hold memories and tell significant stories about their lives. Many of these could be lost forever due to an unexpected disaster. Do you have these things saved anywhere else? Let the library help you start digitizing! Now is the time to start thinking about saving those items that matter most to you.
