Starting Monday, May 4, 2020, library holds may be picked-up between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday thru Friday, from the front porch any of the three library branches!
  • Holds may be placed through your online PINES account, mobile app, or by calling your home library for assistance. Please note that at this time, you may only request items belonging to the Dawson County Library, Dawson County Library Satellite Branch, or the Lumpkin County Library.
  • Once holds are available, a staff member will call and let you know. An appointment will be setup between 9a.m.-3p.m. (Monday-Friday) to pick up your books. Items will be held for 7 days after notification.
  • If you miss our call, please call your specific library with your library card number to set up a new appointment to pick up the holds.
  • The items will be checked out to your account and placed in a bag on a table outside the front door of the library. Look for the first four letters of your last name and the last four numbers of your library card.
  • Since the items are already checked out to you, you can just grab your bag and go!
  • The book drops are open, so books may be returned anytime to the books drops. Remember, there are no late fees during this time!
  • Books are held in “quarantine” for 3 days and sanitized, so returned books may not show up immediately as being checked in.
  • As always, please practice proper social distancing when picking up your holds.
