Temporary Library Closure
The new Lumpkin County Library is almost a reality and plans are in place for a Grand Opening celebration March 28! Before the official opening occurs, however, there is a great deal of packing and physical moving of inventory to be accomplished.
The last open day at the current location will be Saturday, February 22, 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The library will be closed from Sunday, February 23 through Sunday, March 15. The book drops will remain open for returns, and no fines will accrue during the closure. Meeting rooms will not be available for reservation from now until April 1, 2020.
You may still place holds through the PINES system during the closure, but you will need to choose the Dawson County branch, the Dawson Satellite branch, or any other nearby PINES library as your pickup location. The last day to choose Lumpkin County Library as your pickup location is Monday, January 27. Additionally, books owned by the Lumpkin County branch will be unavailable for patron holds.
During the closure, you may contact the Dawson County Library at 706-344-3690 for assistance or with any questions.
The new library location will open Monday, March 16 at 10:00 AM!
